About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on accounting professional with senior leadership experience to step into this newly created position within our Senior Management Team. Reporting to the Deputy CEO, this position is responsible for setting financial policy and direction to support the organisation’s overall strategy; as well as the overall governance, risk and compliance for the Kids Under Cover group. Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Driving performance to enhance operational efficiencies across the organisation.
  • Financial performance budgeting and reporting – month-end, year-end annual and financial reports.
  • Financial and operational process improvement.
  • Tax – planning, strategy, and compliance.
  • Corporate governance and legal compliance.
  • Identify, manage, and report on organisational risk.
  • Preparing financial budgets and reports: month-end, year-end annual and financial reports.
  • Overseeing the day to day financial activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Financial risk management including regulatory compliance, annual financial audit, cash management and banking relationships.

Key Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will have:

  • CPA / CA qualified with 10+ years’ experience in a financial management role
  • High level of proven Xero experience
  • Qualifications in risk (desirable) and demonstrated experience with risk frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience working with auditors.
  • Experience managing and mentoring direct reports
  • Proven ability to liaise and engage with a diverse range of community and business individuals/groups
  • Experience presenting at an executive level, including reporting to boards and sub-committees
