ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) provides the inspiration, information, professional development and support for educational institutions to deliver pleasurable food education, in conjunction with educators, partners and the wider community.

We are seeking a motivated, mission-orientated Knowledge Broker to help support the expansion of pleasurable food education to children and young people around Australia. Reporting to the CEO, your role is to:

  • Assist in identifying, reporting on and applying external research, policies, programs and initiatives that are relevant to SAKGF’s work
  • Assist in identifying, shaping and sharing information, stories and content within SAKGF and the kitchen garden community that can be used to demonstrate the impact of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and the Pleasurable Food Education Philosophy
  • Assist in streamlining knowledge management across the organisation.

You will join a friendly, supportive and collaborative group of people dedicated to supporting schools and early childhood services to deliver pleasurable food education to young Australians.

  • Full-time
  • The SAKGF office is in Melbourne (Collingwood), Victoria close to public transport. Remote working arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
  • Base salary of $75,000 plus superannuation, plus salary packaging benefits.

ABOUT YOU

We are a small not-for-profit that exists in a changeable environment and is open to opportunity and change. You will need to be willing to handle a rapidly adapting workplace, with a responsive and flexible attitude.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Highly developed interpersonal and collaborative skills with a proven ability to build relationships through mutual respect and understanding.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to work on multiple tasks with competing priorities simultaneously and autonomously.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite, Office 365, CRM packages (ideally Salesforce/Marketing Cloud), and the Adobe Suite.
  • Absolutely rigorous attention to detail.
  • Great critical thinking skills.
  • A proactive, can-do approach, and ability to sway according to potentially rapidly changing needs.
  • A passion for fresh, seasonal, delicious food and commitment to the aims of pleasurable food education.

The position may from time to time require intra-state and interstate travel. A driver’s license is required, own vehicle preferred. The applicant must be able to legally work in Australia.
