Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC) are seeking an experienced Youth Programs Coordinator to join the Member Services team. Working with the Manger – Community, the Youth Programs Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of innovative community programs that support the Robe River Kuruma (RRK) community and members. The role will play an integral role in the corporation to ensure strategic programs and projects contribute to the independence and wellbeing of RRK people.

About the organisation:

RKKAC is an Aboriginal organisation, with over 400 members aged 18+. Based in Karratha, Western Australia, the organisation’s vision is to work together as a community to establish a solid foundation towards independence, community wellbeing, cultural identity and healthy country now and for future generations.

Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation (RRKAC) is the registered native title body corporate for Robe River Kuruma (RRK) native title determined areas.

About the role:

The Youth Programs Coordinator (YPC) is responsible for the development and delivery of programs that benefit Robe River Kuruma youth. The YPC will support the Manager – Community to ensure programs achieve RRKAC strategic plan objectives and will provide regular reporting and program evaluation to the management team. Further, the role will supervise junior staff and through the development of youth wellbeing and case management plans work extensively with external service providers, to provide advocacy and referral pathways for RRK youth.

Key programs relevant to this role are the Employment Pathways, RYDE and Youth Leadership and Culture programs.

This role will suit a committed, high-performing individual with a passion for working with young people and professional background in community development and engagement practise.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Ability to multitask, coordinate and manage a range of programs and projects
  • Experience in leading and developing people and programs
  • Passionate about working with young people and the betterment of the community
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Work effectively with and for Aboriginal people
    • Model desired workplace behaviours
    • Effectively resolve conflict
    • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with a spectrum of stakeholders
  • Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain), Valid Open C Class License, Pass pre-employment medical including Drug & Alcohol test
