The role of the Graphic Designer is to support the work of our consultants and associates to ensure Knowledge Society produces high quality creative output across all assignments. The role will include working on high concept projects for diverse clients and for a wide range of deliverables including video, slide decks, web design, printed collateral, product design and media campaigns.

The Graphic Designer ensures that the creative element of Knowledge Society work is executed to a high professional standard. With your attention to detail and sophisticated design eye you will be an important member of the team, creating a range of outputs for our clients in the education and communities sectors. You will be part of our high performing team who bring energy and commitment to everything they do.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Take concepts and develop them into final designed deliverables across a range of mediums including PowerPoint, video animation, printed materials

  • Actively participate and contribute to creative problem-solving, bringing concepts to life through your suggestions and solutions

  • Support the company’s transition to a new website, brand and promotional materials including collateral

  • Support colleagues in the production of materials for clients and workshops, and in the preparation of deliverables such as reports and slide decks

  • Design standardised templates and style guides for new projects

  • Liaise with printers and manage print production

  • Implement in-house training as appropriate, e.g. slide training

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification and a minimum of 3+ years experience in a graphic design role with a strong portfolio across digital and print

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite with strong Mac literacy

  • Able to work to tight deadlines working on multiple projects concurrently

  • Able to respond to a range of briefs, including corporate and creative work

  • Can communicate well with a collaborative approach and realistic about timeframes for delivery

  • Ability to self-manage and flourish both autonomously and as part of a team

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including aptitude for engagement and attentiveness to client needs

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in managing small projects such as a website rollout
  • Interest in or some exposure to human centred design, design solutions, service design

Position details

Reporting: The Graphic Designer reports to the Program Manager. The successful candidate will be active in 2–3 projects concurrently.

Location: This role is based in our Subiaco office. Travel within WA and interstate may be required. We will consider remote applicants from anywhere in Australia.

Duration: Full-time (approximately 37.5 hrs per week), with flexibility if required. Fixed-term contract for one year with the potential for extension.

Salary: $70,000 - 80,000 annually (plus superannuation) depending on experience.
