Community Breakfast Project Coordinator

The Role:

The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Centre Manager and ER Coordinator  to develop, lead and manage a new innovative 5 day p.w. Breakfast Program. The purpose of the program is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for those who are the most marginalised in our community to build a sense of community and belonging. This project will bring together key support services who will participate on a roster basis in the program, developing trusted relationships with the breakfast guests. The Breakfast Project Coordinator will establish, train and manage a small team of volunteers who will provide the meal service. As a team, the Breakfast Coordinator, with the support of a caseworker, will engage in a friendly, non judgemental way with the breakfast guests, linking them and supporting them to access support services. The Breakfast Coordinator will be required to develop a social engagement program that is fun and inclusive and responsive to the wants and needs of the participants. The successful candidate will have demonstrated partnership development skills and a commitment to working in a small team that achieves great things together. You Will:

  • Be passionate about developing strong and trusted relationships between relevant stakeholders
  • Have strong community development skills
  • Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy with data management
  • Have highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Be able to manage and complete a project with strict timelines
  • Have an interest in working with vulnerable individuals
  • Have a demonstrated knowledge of the local community

Outcomes:

  • Work as part of a dynamic team of staff and volunteers who provide emergency relief to improve the outcomes for vulnerable people
  • Provide a high standard of service delivery ensuring that the dignity and respect of the client is observed at all times
  • Establish strong and trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Provide a friendly and welcoming environment for breakfast guests and other stakeholders.
