The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation (AKKF) is an innovative, exciting, and growing not-for-profit organisation, providing exceptional early intervention and prevention services and support, to young people living in families affected by mental illness.

As a team, we make a difference in the lives of the young people we support (aged 8-18), by providing them with education, support, and social networking opportunities, in a fun, positive, and safe environment. Our Programs, operating across Australia, involve creative and adventurous indoor and outdoor activity days, camps and online Connect programs.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Head of Community and Partnerships, and looking after the QLD, NSW, and VIC regions, this part-time role (3 days per week) is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and converting new and ongoing partnerships, to drive financial support and intake across AKKF’s Core portfolio. In this key role your responsibilities would include:

  • Driving growth in AKKF’s Core Portfolio within your regions.
  • Developing and managing all aspects of business development for your regions, including research, writing proposals/briefs.
  • Engaging and cultivating new partnerships, maintaining an active program of stewardship for the AKKF Core portfolio.
  • Building engagement with stakeholders/partners within and external to AKKF to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Proactively work to drive intake numbers and to promote and increase awareness of AKKF and its associated programs.
  • Attending and presenting as needed, at community engagement activities and events to promote AKKF.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Have a passion for driving organisational growth, funding, and intake.
  • Extensive experience in business development and partnership management, with the ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with partners and supporters.
  • Demonstrated experience with, and enjoy, engaging with stakeholders and the end-to-end pitch process (including research, submission development, analysis, and presentations).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to conceive and drive initiatives from idea to reality.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with an ability to engage with a variety of audiences.
  • Able to work as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Have a can-do, adaptable, resilient, positive, proactive attitude and approach.
  • Full drivers licences and access to own car.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification, desirable.
