KU Children's Services (KU) is a leading not for profit provider of nearly 140 early childhood education and care services in NSW, VIC, the ACT and QLD. Established in 1895, KU is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected providers of long day care, preschool, outside school hours care, family programs and early intervention services. KU also operates brokered programs on behalf of the Commonwealth Government and provides professional services to the early childhood sector and the wider community.

The Role:

The Business Development Team are seeking a dedicated and organised Business Development Manager for a permanent full or part time role. This role is focused on exploring new business opportunities, and providing specialist consultancy advice, that reflect KU’s experience and expertise in the early childhood sector.

It is a unique opportunity to combine your qualifications and experience in early childhood, with strategic thinking and business planning, to take your career to a new level.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Source opportunities to undertake consultancy projects on a fee for service basis
  • Manage the establishment of new centres in consultation with other departments in KU
  • Develop grant application that improve KU operations, programs and/or services
  • Assess, respond to and/or manage tenders that fit within the KU Business Development Strategy
  • Seek opportunities to partner with government, commercial and community-based organisations to deliver new, viable KU services and programs
  • Investigate the viability of innovative initiatives, programs and services

What we're looking for:

The preferred candidate must hold an Early Childhood Education Teaching qualification underpinning significant sector experience, blended with demonstrated business development acumen.

We also want you to be as passionate about early childhood education, and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are.

In addition, you will have:

  • Demonstrated innovative, proactive, and creative approach to sourcing new business opportunities,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Informed and innovative thinking
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes
  • Strong attention to detail

Consideration will be given to the successful candidate to work in either a Part Time or Full Time capacity. The role will be based out of our Victorian Office in Melbourne's CBD. Following successful completion of probation period flexible working location arrangements will be considered.

The preferred candidate will be required to undertake a Working with Children check.
