The Katherine Women’s Crisis Centre (KWCC) is passionate and focused, working to support and maximise the safety of women and their children experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence in the greater Katherine region. KWCC team consistently work together, to create an environment conducive to healing.

KWCC is a Non for profit organisation which operates 7 days a week 24 hours a day, providing supported crisis accommodation to women & their children escaping domestic/family violence.

KWCC provides case management to the family in a way which enriches women’s lives by supporting their individual choices.


KWCC prides itself on providing a safe, confidential environment for support, advocacy and assistance at a time when women need it the most.

ABOUT YOU

As the Crisis Accommodation Coordinator, you will be required to lead and supervise a team of Support Workers whose role it is to provide information, education, advocacy, referral and case management support to women and their children who are experiencing Domestic/Family violence. You will oversee and manage the physical resources associated with the Crisis Accommodation Service to ensure operational requirements and coverage is maintained.

The team consistently work together, to create an environment conductive to healing. Supporting women by 'walking with them' and, adhering to a strong organisational Vision, Mission and Core KWCC Values.

You will need to be holistic, flexible and have a depth of cultural understanding and sound knowledge of domestic/family violence for the required case management.

Affective communication skills are paramount as you engage extensively with other support services and community organisations.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Social Science; Human Resources or a related field.
  2. Knowledge of all aspects of Domestic and Family Violence.
  3. Minimum 2 years experience working in a Community Service setting and ability to provide effective Crisis Intervention and Case Management.
  4. Previous experience supervising and leading a team.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and proven ability to apply trauma informed practice frameworks for interventions to clients and their children affected by Domestic and Family Violence.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of Domestic, Family & sexual Violence.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education of self and others.
  8. Proven knowledge of cultural and cross-cultural issues affecting people accessing services and the ability to apply this knowledge when working with clients and their families;

    3. Ochre card – Working with Children Clearance
    4. Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements – Mandatory Reporting of DV/ Child protection
    5. Current Drivers Licence
