Board Directors (Voluntary) - Regional Victoria

LanceTV Inc.
  • Multiple Voluntary Director positions
  • 2 year term with possible contract renewal
  • Virtual meetings (there will also be opportunities to connect in person)

A BIT ABOUT US

Lance TV Inc is a multigenerational, intersectional platform developing and sharing content developed for and by LGBTIQ+ communities and beyond across regional Victoria. Lance TV aims to showcase LGBTIQ+ storytelling, representation and visibility through arts-based practice and to support the connectedness of LGBTIQ+ communities across rural and regional Victoria.

Currently, the primary focus of Lance TV Inc. has been the creation and broadcasting of our television show, Lance TV, which screens on C31 Melbourne and simulcasts to Facebook. The program is viewed an average of 2,000 times per month on Facebook alongside data from OZtam which indicates that Lance TV was viewed by a further 20,000+ people every Friday across Melbourne and Geelong in June 2020. Lance TV’s growing audiences serve as a barometer of the need from LGBTIQ+ communities to hear LGBTIQ+ stories.

Which leads us to now, the place we currently sit, where we are growing beyond our current scope of work to expand our platform to support content creators, storytellers and creatives across regional and rural Victoria. As we enter our expansion phase, our focus is on building our foundations and connecting with LGTBIQ+ communities across regional and rural Victoria.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE ROLE

Lance TV Inc. does things in our own unique way - we believe in blending traditional Board roles with creativity, joy and humour. To support our development and expansion, we are seeking passionate, community-centred and skilled individuals who are passionate about storytelling, all things content and media and increasing the visibility of regionally based LGBTIQ+ communities.

The Board of Directors will be responsible for supporting the development of Lance TV Inc.’s strategy, supporting the organisation to achieve its purpose and governing the overall reputational, risk and financial management of the organisation. It is responsible for Lance TV Inc.’s overall performance and compliance, providing strategic direction, effective governance and leadership on behalf of our stakeholders.

However, as we enter an expansion phase and seek to grow our platform beyond Lance TV, we aren’t looking for your typical Board member. We are looking for people who can support the core foundations of Lance TV Inc. but are also keen to roll up their sleeves and jump into the deep end.
