How you'll change lives

This exciting and challenging position offers you the opportunity to build and empower the lives of people experiencing homelessness. You will work intensively with a small case load of clients, building engagement over time in order to meet case plan goals. In addition, you will:

  • Develop individual case plans in conjunction with clients and implement strategies that enable them to achieve their goals by building upon their strengths and focusing on solutions.
  • Assist clients to develop longer term housing options, both within and/or independently of Launch Housing's supported accommodation program.
  • Ensure clients maximise all government and community income assistance and support.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with vulnerable clients using flexible engagement strategies to achieve case plan goals.
  • Coordinate services required by the client and client's family and monitor their ongoing effectiveness.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for working with people experiencing homelessness and a determination to deliver innovative and effective services of the highest possible standard to our clients.

You will also have the following:

  • A demonstrated ability to achieve quality client outcomes
  • An understanding of the Victorian homelessness service system particularly with regards to crisis and social housing
  • An understanding of case management practice and trauma informed principles
  • Experience working with clients with multiple and complex needs due to dual diagnosis, domestic and family violence and/or psychological trauma
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with clients, key stakeholders and external service providers
  • An ability to empower clients using a strength based approach whilst setting boundaries
  • Ability to respond to and manage critical incidents in a timely manner
  • Experience working independently and as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team
