What you'll do

The Drug Court Housing program (DCHP) is funded by Court Services Victoria to provide housing and housing focused support to specifically referred participants that are entrenched in the criminal justice system and have a history of homelessness. The objective of DCHP is to reduce the ongoing homelessness and re-offending among court support participants who are sentenced to a drug treatment order (DTO). This cohort presents with coexisting multiple and complex needs that are, but not limited to, poor mental health, problematic substance use, unemployment and family/relationship breakdown.

The program operates collaboratively with the Drug Court team at Melbourne Drug Court to assist DTO participants who are moving in or already residing in leased properties to address issues exacerbating their risk of homelessness and the factors that contribute to their offending. Housing focused support is provided to enhance the likelihood of a successful completion of their drug treatment order.
