The Law Council of Australia (Law Council) is the peak national representative body of the Australian legal profession. Since 1933 the Law Council has represented its Constituent Bodies, which include State and Territory law societies and bar associations, to speak on national issues, and promote the administration of justice, access to justice and general improvement of the law.
The Business Law Section (BLS) was established in August 1980 by the Law Council of Australia with jurisdiction in all matters pertaining to business law. It is governed by a set of by-laws passed by its members and accepted by the Law Council Executive. The BLS provides a forum through which lawyers and others interested in law affecting business can discuss current issues, debate and contribute to the process of law reform in Australia, and enhance their professional skills.
As a member of the BLS Administrative team, the role of the Administrative Assistant is to provide high-level administrative support to the Section Administrator in the delivery of all Section activities, particularly in regard to support of the Section’s specialist committees and working groups.
