The Law Council of Australia (Law Council) is the peak national representative body of the Australian legal profession. Since 1933 the Law Council has represented its Constituent Bodies, which include State and Territory law societies and bar associations, to speak on national issues, and promote the administration of justice, access to justice and general improvement of the law.

The Policy Division of the Law Council, in addition to its research, policy formulation and advocacy roles, provides administrative support to specialist Sections, Advisory Committees and Working Groups. These groups consist of lawyers who are expert practitioners in particular fields of law and public legal policy areas such as access to justice.

The position reports to the Principal Policy Lawyer and will provide support to the Courts and Justice team of the Law Council Policy Division by assisting in the preparation of written material on a diverse range of legal and public policy issues, research papers and reports related to systematic access to justice issues.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in law is required.
