About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Media & Government Relations, the Digital Media Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to strengthen and support the Lost Dogs’ Home brand and promote key animal welfare and other business messages in support of achieving our four-year strategy.

This involves hands on delivery of marketing and communications activities, effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating the creation of and management of all social media and digital content, reporting on performance using analytics, creating and managing website content.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Senior Manager Media Relations to create and generate content for social media and digital channels.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders. You will be delivering initiatives on their behalf.
  • Provide timely, professional advice to key internal stakeholders in relation to communication projects.
  • Assist in the development and execution of communication strategies and objectives.
  • Liaise with external agencies and advertising partners.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to align communications to brand strategy.
  • Develop and implement a yearly social media plan and calendar in line with the organisation’s goals
  • Develop and update content for website, social media and other general communications collateral and materials

About you

You will be a people person who has excellent communication and relationship building skills, who also has a creative flair and passion for creating engaging content. We are looking for someone who understands the animal welfare world and is committed to using their digital media and communication skills to help grow and promote our brand and service to the community. You will also have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in social media and communications or similar role
  • Strong copywriting and communications skills, excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Excellent understanding of social media, digital content creation, social media advertising, tracking, reporting and optimisation.
  • Experience using Wordpress, CMS, photoshop and other social media tools
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship and customer service skills
  • Knowledge in the mainstream media landscape
  • High levels of computer literacy.
  • Flexibility to work after-hours, weekends & public holidays occasionally
  • A genuine concern for improving the lives of lost and abandoned animals.
