The Role

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Executive, the Community Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for supporting a vibrant community fundraising program.

The Community Fundraising Coordinator will support the Community Fundraising Executive in managing the program and will be the first point of contact for all new community fundraisers. They will participate in the implementation of the Community Fundraising strategy and will work in collaboration with the wider Development team.

Your Key responsibilities will include;

  • Contribute to the Development Strategy with the aim to increase donor numbers and funds raised for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse
  • Provide excellent customer service to supporters or potential supporters as the first point of contact via the phone or in person.
  • Co-ordinate and manage administrative activities to ensure the efficient running of the program.
  • Providing support to the Community Fundraising Executive and take an active role in the execution of community and digital fundraising projects, coordinating with project teams, Marketing & Communications and Development Services.
  • Nurture existing supplier and stakeholder relationships and ensure all promotion externally is in line with the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse brand and brand guidelines.
  • Represent Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and support the team with events and related ad-hoc duties as needed – some weekend and after-hours work will be required in this role.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential

  • High emotional intelligence with excellent judgment and sensitivity to interpersonal and organisational dynamics
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and phone manner with the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds in a non-judgmental manner and be able to respect different values and cultures.
  • Demonstrated event, project management, and relationship management experience
  • Demonstrated outstanding client service skills and experience with the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly, and respectfully in person and on the phone
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with shifting and short deadlines
  • Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills to assist with proposals and stewardship reports as required
  • Highly organised, a multitasker who is energised by supporting a successful, high-functioning team
  • Excellent listening and analysis skills, with both attention to detail and the ability to think holistically in order to solve problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and achieve results with diverse constituencies with potentially competing interests, opinions and expectations
  • Kind, empathetic, and compassionate by nature

Desirable

  • 1 to 3 years’ fundraising, marketing, customer service, or other related experience
  • Experience with medical fundraising would be strongly preferred
