About the Role:

The Network Systems Engineer’s role is to provide expertise and guidance to Lifestyle Technology staff in design, maintenance and operation of the organisational network and security. The Network Systems Engineer will also provide support to the technology team in terms of the Azure environment, backups and our server infrastructure. The role will also be a focal point for support and maintenance of our SD-WAN footprint.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and administer the network and IT infrastructure to best practice including but not limited to, VMs, switches, firewalls, routers, controllers and WAPs
  • Monitor and manage design changes related to domain management, incident management, patch management, vulnerability management, remote access, access control and capacity planning
  • Ensure Licenses are fit for purpose
  • Liaise with external technology partners and suppliers in supporting networks and systems
  • Work with the business to help plan and implement IT projects
  • Document, develop and update internal knowledge base
  • Manage and maintain the overall integrity of Lifestyle Solutions IT infrastructure including security, backups and availability
  • Work after hours and/or weekends for incident, patch management, change management and emergency changes when required or on-call
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical network infrastructure support
  • Adhere to Incident, Security, Problem and Change Management processes as per the ITIL Framework
  • Perform onsite maintenance and troubleshooting and where practical

About You:

Along with excellent communication, attention to detail and problem solving skills, the successful candidate will have:

  • Microsoft certifications required (M365, Azure), including MCSE or equivalent 
  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certifications
  • Extensive networking and systems experience
  • Project management exposure, particularly around infrastructure projects
  • ITIL3 or ITIL 4 foundation certificate
  • Extensive experience with Azure, especially around configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Solid knowledge of virtualisation platforms, especially Hypervisor
  • Experience with Wi-Fi technologies (Unifi – Ubiquiti), as well as WAN/LAN technologies and support
  • Knowledge and experience of firewalling and security solutions, specifically PaloAlto (Prisma)
  • Good knowledge of Azure and Office365 administration and support
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security and best practices
  • Windows server skills, including Server 2012-2019, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPO, RDS, RD Gateway, File and print services
  • Experience with storage administration, operational procedures and disaster recovery management
  • Basic experience with SQL Server administration
  • Knowledge of backup technologies & configuration, specifically Veeam
  • Solid knowledge of scripting and Powershell
  • Experience with mail management systems – knowledge of Mimecast would be beneficial
  • Some vendor management exposure, especially in regard to carriers and third party service providers
