About the role 

This full-time opportunity, within the Life Without Barriers VDAS administration support team, calls for someone with proven organisational and administration skills, who is able to see what needs to be done and does it in an efficient, friendly and professional manner. Based in Canterbury the position provides support to Regional and Operational Managers as well as the wider administrative support team within VDAS.  

This is an excellent opportunity to build on or discover more about the disability services space, gain insight into the operational aspects of disability accommodation services and undertake a variety of administration support tasks to ensure the continued smooth running of the support function.   

Key Responsibilities Include:  

  • Provision of administrative support to the Victorian Disability Accommodation Services (VDAS) business unit and some administrative support to VDAS projects. 
  • Liaising with external and internal stakeholders to fulfil a variety of business and operations requirements. 
  • General office administration support, front of house reception,  stationery orders and other related business requirements, answering of Local switchboard (both internal and external calls), transferring of calls to appropriate personnel, taking of messages etc. data entry, updating clients and families data base, typing, filing, photocopying, binding and faxing of documents as required. 
  • Greeting of staff, residents and visitors to Canterbury Office and providing directions, giving access to office and other information as required
  • Attending meetings with key stakeholders to take minutes and notes

Skills & Experience 

  • Good time management and prioritisation skills with strong administrative skills and experience in providing support and assistance to management. High level Microsoft Office Suite skill base. 
  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to manage sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality 
  • Demonstrated invoicing and accounts experience 
  • Current Driver's Licence 

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
