About the Role

Due to internal career progression within the organisation, we are now looking for an Aged Care Program Manager based in Canberra for a 12 Month Full Time Contract period until July 2022.

You will partner with an existing Program Manager to oversee and manage client service functions to ensure smooth operations, compliance, and a high quality of care of clients. You will also be providing subject matter expertise and professional leadership to the Client Services Teams.

We are looking for someone who will model a flexible and creative approach that is person-centred, enabling and supporting choice whilst also balancing evolving business needs. Our ideal candidate will have strong experience within the Aged Care industry with a high level of understanding of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage programs to ensure compliance with legislation and contractual requirements whilst also ensuring a consistent standard of quality is delivered through a person-centred approach
  • Ensure delivery of program services are in accordance with budgets and business plans
  • Develop, lead, motivate and manage Aged Care Client Services teams
  • Model appropriate conflict resolution, communication, and positive behaviour management skills, point of escalation and adjudication where relevant for client and direct staff feedback
  • Communicate and act in ways that are consistent with Life Without Barriers values: Responsive, Imaginative, Courageous, Respectful and Relationships

Skills & Experience

  • An unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Relevant qualifications in Human Services, Aged Care, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a leadership/management role within the Aged Care industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of person-centred thinking, the principles of CHSP, HCP or VHC
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic thinking, achieve results and communicate with influence
  • Ability to support organisation-wide initiatives that support LWB’s Purpose and Values

Successful candidates will be required to clear relevant state-based probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and the ACT Working With Vulnerable People Card.
