About the role 

Develop and implement therapeutic case plans for the individual needs and goals of children and young people in our Intensive Therapeutic Care programs in Dubbo and Orange.

The successful candidate will have experience working with young people in out of home care, previous experience managing complex caseloads, an understanding of trauma and its effects on children and young people.

This is a permanent full-time role, holding a case load of up to 6 young people. You will be required to participate in a rotating on-call roster and regularly travel to Dubbo and Orange (a car is provided for use).

Key Responsibilities  

  • Develop and implement high quality therapeutic case plans for children and young people in LWB's care 
  • Develop and maintain functional and supportive relationships with children and young people in therapeutic care as well as their families in order to promote positive outcomes 
  • Attend shifts within the intensive therapeutic care homes, and work closely with the team 
  • Meet with clients and family members to gather input for case plans and ensure their views are represented 
  • Coordinate and network with other agencies to effectively achieve case plan goals within tight time frames.
  • Participate in an on-call roster as required 
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policy and procedure, statutory and contractual requirements in relation to management of service delivery 

Skills & Experience 

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree or a relevant diploma working towards a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with young people
  • Understanding of trauma and its effects on children and young people
  • Experience in working with children and young people in out of home care, foster carers and families or groups 
  • Knowledge of current casework practices for children and young people 
  • Current NSW unrestricted drivers’ licence
