About the Role

This is a newly created role reporting to the Data Engineering Lead. You will work in a small cross functional team of data professionals (who all love data). Your primary goal will be to ensure that Life Without Barriers data users have the right data at the right time so that we can provide better outcomes for the people it supports.

This is a permanent full time role which can be based anywhere in Australia, this role can be based in one of our offices or working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, wrangle, model, join and build datasets from a variety of sources
  • Contribute to the development of data products for variety of data users
  • Set up and maintain ELT pipelines
  • Manage and optimise core data infrastructure (acquisition, storage, transformation)
  • Assist in the on-going goal of data self-service

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary level qualifications in a computer science or a related IT discipline
  • Problem-solving skills, including the ability to think tactically and strategically
  • Interest in learning new platforms and utilising new technology
  • Exposure to key data engineering concepts and toolsets e.g. data lake vs. data warehouse, streaming data vs batched data, ELT/Analytical tools such as AWS Glue and Alteryx


  • Experience with Knime Analytics Platform will be highly regarded.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
