About the role

As a Home Manager for our Intensive Therapeutic Care – Significant Disability (ITC SD) team in Grafton, you'll play a key role in supporting Children & Young People in our care to develop independent living skills, engagement in education and remain positively connected to their team of Care Workers, Families, and broader community connections. 

The Children & Young People we care for have may have a diagnosed disability and or complex medical care needs, alongside backgrounds of trauma, abuse and neglect.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be a hand-on leader who can provide mentorship and guidance to a team of therapeutic care workers, ensuring the delivery of individualised trauma informed support to Children & Young people in LWB's care.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the ITC home and participate in the planning and implementation of therapeutic care plans for Children & Young People
  • Be actively present in the home environment, providing role modelling, support and supervision to therapeutic care workers
  • Model and support staff in applying the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) system
  • Manage home in accordance with the CARE model, legislation, relevant standards, LWB policies and procedures and funding body requirements
  • Provide an environment free of abuse, harm and exploitation for the Children & Young people we support

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, Disability or similar
  • Strong understanding and experience supporting people with disabilities, complex health needs and those whom exhibit pain based behaviours of concern
  • Demonstrated management experience within an Out of Home Care or Intensive Therapeutic Care setting. 
  • Ability to provide supervision and support to a team of Therapeutic Care Workers, to embed the delivery of therapeutic models of support to Children & Young People.
  • Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts within a 24/7 roster and participate in an after hours on-call roster as required
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID003 OR HLTAID011) &CPR (HLTAID001 OR HLTAID009) Certificate/s
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
