About the Role

We are seeking a Practice Lead to manage and lead our Child Youth and Family Foster Care program in Robina. This is a client centred role that works in partnership with corporate and local teams to improve client outcomes.

The successful incumbent will support and work within the framework of organisational program initiatives, while managing a multi-disciplinary permanency support team by providing practice advice and support.

Our ideal candidate will be able provides local leadership in the coordination and facilitation of quality and safeguarding systems and processes whilst leading the team to achieve business plan outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and support to a multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and their families and carers.
  • Guide and support the implementation of quality carer assessments, supervision, supports and reviews in accordance with LWB policy and practice models.
  • Work co-operatively with Central Enquiry Team to ensure effective management of carer engagement, recruitment, supervision and support.
  • Embed the CARE approach locally by leading a multi-disciplinary service delivery team to provide, monitor and promote quality practice and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Provide input into the development of new programs and practice initiatives and translate these into practice.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience, skills and knowledge in child protection / out of home care services / family support and preservation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and using evidence informed practice models across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in providing professional development through clinical supervision, training, coaching and monitoring.
  • Experience working in a culturally sensitive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a willingness to work and train in culturally appropriate approaches.

Essential Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or a relevant human service area.
  • Working knowledge of relevant QLD legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in recruitment, assessment, supervision and support of foster carers.
  • Current unrestricted drivers licence.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
