About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Communications & Media you will Develop clear and engaging content to inform, educate and excite our internal and external audiences about how Life Without Barriers is changing lives for the better. You will project manage campaigns and develop integrated communications; being hands-on in drafting and editing a range of communications content for various communications mediums.  This is a full time, 12 month maximum term contract position that can be based from any of our offices with flexibility to work from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the development and delivery of compelling content across a range of mediums including digital and web content, stories, announcements, video scripts and thought leadership positioning
  • Collaborate with manager to develop communication strategies and plans
  • Collaborate with other functional areas to optimise opportunities to promote the work of Life Without Barriers
  • Lead the implementation and use of digital communication platforms across the organisation
  • Keep abreast of advancements in the specialised industry of communications and content development and approaches
  • Lead the development and creation of dynamic, fresh, relevant and effective communication content
  • Develop and distribute communication content that is relevant to the identified stakeholder group
  • Develop communications strategies for Executive approved projects
  • Develop sophisticated reporting of communication campaign efficiency and assessment
  • Recommend, implement and evaluate best practice communications approaches

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism or other relevant discipline  
  • Strong experience as a communications professional
  • Outstanding copywriting, editing and storytelling skills
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy, content development and storytelling for an internal and external audience
  • Experience in NFP, disability, mental health or foster care preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience managing large communications projects
  • Demonstrated experience producing and analysing reporting and analytics
  • Advanced experience in using e-based communication channels in an integrated model
  • Demonstrate initiative and responsiveness

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
