This position is can be based in either Shailer Park or Milton, with the flexibility to work from home when required. 

About the Role

The purpose of the Senior Project Officer – Child, Youth & Family position is to provide project leadership coordination and support within the Operational Development team on projects that support strategic initiatives that aim to enhance the quality of client services and client outcomes.

This may involve developing project briefs and proposals which describe scope, deliverables, high level solution options, external funding body requirements, legislative compliance, project plans and implementation designs as required.

The successful incumbent will undertake and lead project activity, provide administrative support, provide supervision and leadership to project officer(s) and conduct data reporting and analysis as required.

Key Requirements

  • Work with and within the Operational Development team to design and implement successful comprehensive projects
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation to drive and contribute to projects that enhance operational capabilities and align to the strategic directions of the organisation
  • Partner and collaborate with CYF teams and other relevant teams to ensure successful implementation of state and national CYF reform projects, new programs and initiatives
  • Support the required work environment, culture, systems, and processes necessary to embed standards, behaviours and practices consistent with LWB values, work health and safety requirements and pillars of practice
  • Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop team members to enable them to deliver to the best of their ability 

Skills & Experience  

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in human services, project management or similar areas
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting projects and project delivery in a state-level, large or high transactional organisation
  • Proven ability to successfully deliver high level project outcomes and previous project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with teams to support children and young people with complex needs
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing small teams
  • Significant and demonstrated knowledge of Child Youth & Family policy and practice
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to think laterally and strategically
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement within the context of high-risk matters
  • Demonstrated knowledge in project management / coordination, project methodology and /or software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to prepare high level written products inclusive of reports, letters, emails and other written forms.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
