About the role

This is a newly created role, reporting to the ICT Service Delivery Manager, you will be instrumental in steering the Service Now platform along with key project stakeholders to capture technical business and user requirements. The ServiceNow Technical Platform Owner works with the ICT Application Analyst to ensure requirements are understood, developed, tested, and delivered to specification. The ServiceNow Platform Product Owner possesses sound foundational knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, a detailed understanding of the business users represented, and the ability to describe business and user requirements in a manner that enables system administrators and engineers to understand, estimate the relative effort, and deliver business functionality. 

This is a permanent full time role, location either Newcastle, Melbourne or Sydney.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop administration and configuration processes and best practice guidance to support Functional and Technical Administrators with focus on consistency for the Technical Software platform 
  • Implement Platform Development practices and Institute Release Management processes to coordinate change for Technical Software implementations 
  • Guide and collaborate with System Implementors to ensure they are following the ICT Application Lifecycle Management strategy 
  • Collaborate with Technical Software stakeholders for Change Management when platform change may impact users 
  • Work with internal stakeholders to create solution designs in line with Technical Software best practice and identify strategic plan for capabilities to empower Life Without Barriers 
  • Build and maintain relationships with employees and end users to ensure customer satisfaction and exceed customer expectations 
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to end users, managers and the business 
  • Ensure security related events are managed to minimise risk or disruption to business operations 
  • Contribute to the development and update of documentation and materials that assist end users to use ICT technology and services

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering or related Information Technology degree or similar experience / knowledge 
  • Technical certifications and training for platforms supporting  
  • Significant knowledge of Technical Software Platform development practices
  • Understanding of SAAS  development practice
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles 
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including the ability to think tactically and strategic
  • Demonstrated experience in handling sensitive material and maintaining confidentiality
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including managers, peers, employees, external organisations, service providers
  • Excellent written communication skills for the creation of correspondence and, as required, other materials or reports.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
