Working in line with the CARE model you will strive to enhance the lives of children and young people in our Child Youth & Family programs incorporating a therapeutic, trauma informed approach. We are currently seeking experienced candidates to support young people that display complex and challenging behaviours as well as children with dual mental health and disability diagnosis. Please be aware that you will often be working on your own during shifts and as such you will need be confident and have relevant experience to draw on.
Our Child, Youth and Family program in Mackay supports children and young people within a Residential service (aged between 12-16) who present with high complex needs, including high medical needs, mental health, disability, emotional and complex behavioural issues. Our ideal candidates will work closely with other staff to assist young people to heal from their trauma and achieve their potential whilst planning for permanency.
You will be supporting young people with such things as school pick up, meal prep, community access, in home support and working closely in line with their goals.
We have two positions that require availability from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They will be sleep over shifts commencing at 4pm, concluding at 8am the following day
We have another two positions where shift patterns can be negotiated with the successful applicants.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
