Lighthouse Foundation provides therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse and homelessness. Our focus is to create caring communities where young people can feel safe, form meaningful relationships and begin to heal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Assisting with the evidence base to enable an independent project evaluation.
  • Participating in qualitative and quantitative data preparation, collection, basic analysis, and report production, under the supervision and guidance of The Manager of the Lighthouse Institute.
  • Working within Lighthouse’s Model of Care which centres the experiences of vulnerable young people in all our work.
  • Participating in a culture in which young people and staff are truly valued and community members feel a sense of belonging.

This role’s purpose is to support the research component of a government funded pilot project that offers experiential education to the various communities around vulnerable children and young people. The primary duties will involve a combination of administering the devised research design, informing project content through exploring the literature, and supporting to prepare data for sharing with independent researchers. The role will be primarily based from the Lighthouse Richmond Youth Resource Centre.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some formal training and experience in social science research methods.
  • Complete a National Criminal Records check, and participate in a psycho-social screen by Lighthouse.
  • Provide consent for a Disqualified Carers Check.
