ABOUT LITTLE DREAMERS

Hi there! We’re Little Dreamers, a non-profit organisation working towards an equal world for Young Carers.

Did you know that an estimated 1 in 10 children in Australia give up their childhood to provide unpaid care? These Young Carers provide invaluable support to family members affected by disability, chronic or mental illness, addiction, or frail age.

Over 12 years, Little Dreamers has changed the lives of thousands of Young Carers each year through programs including Dream Experiences; school holiday programs; mentoring and tutoring; in-school education and training; The Dreamers Hub; in-person peer support; and the Big Dreamers Personal Development Program. These direct support programs have been designed by Young Carers, for Young Carers, and address the major risk factors that Young Carers commonly face: social isolation, poor mental health, unemployment, financial and educational disadvantage.

Within the wider community, we also advocate for policy change and are big believers in the power of awareness. We’re working to equip the community, the education system, friends, and family with the tools and knowledge to identify, recognise and improve the quality of life of Young Carers once and for all.

THE POSITION

The Dreamers Hub is our online platform for Young Carers, offering blogs, forums, workshops, educational resources, support catalogues, events, and everything in between. It’s a dedicated, safe space just for Young Carers, helping them to feel recognised and establish a sense of belonging within the Little Dreamers community.

As Dreamers Hub Coordinator, you’ll work closely with the Marketing and Events team to deliver projects funded by grants and ensure that the Dreamers Hub strategy aligns with upcoming events, campaigns and marketing opportunities.

Our upcoming projects include an expansion of the Dreamers Hub, an 18-part online safety series and accompanying podcast, the establishment of a COVID-19 information portal and development of a service provider portal.

In addition, you’ll support our Dreamers Hub Editor to create relevant and engaging content and regular engagement opportunities on the Hub, including blogs, educational modules series, competitions, forum discussions, and more.

The role requires working to strict deadlines and being accountable to grant requirements, including budgets and acquittals.
