Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney (H2HS) is one of over 40 Lifeline centres nationally, providing Australians with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

ABOUT OUR TEAM:

Our Clinical Service strives to deliver best practice, evidence-based interventions and to collaborate with clients to reduce emotional distress, promote resilience and improve coping skills in individuals who may be at risk of suicide. Interventions include both individual and group counselling services and support clients with a wide range of presenting issues. The clinical team are proficient in delivering services through both telehealth and in person modes.

The role

The Clinical Coordinator: Clinical Governance is responsible for implementing and maintaining governance systems for Lifeline H2HS Clinical Services and supporting the values of continuous improvement and excellent service delivery within the team. This role will work closely with all members of the Clinical Services team and will report to the Clinical Services Manager.

This role is permanent part-time, 15 hours per week in total.

Key responsibilities are as follows but are not limited to:

  • To implement and maintain clinical governance systems, including ensuring updated documentation of all clinical services policies and procedures, coordinating auditing procedures and support the implementation of a stepped care model for clients.
  • To manage data collection and reporting for clinical services, including annual client survey.
  • To induct new staff and coach existing staff in new procedures and models of care.
  • Coordinate the professional development program for Clinical Services.
  • To undertake specific, one-off improvement projects within clinical services as required.

About you:

  • Excellent understanding of the counselling sector, including legislative and clinical governance frameworks
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop others
  • Strong commitment to service improvement

Essential Criteria

  • Member of appropriate professional body e.g. PACFA, APS
  • Post graduate degree or diploma in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or related Behavioural/Social Science field
  • Proficiency working within a Microsoft Soft Office environment
  • Experience providing counselling face-to-face, over the phone and via digital platforms

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in counselling service
  • Experience in a community mental health organisation
  • Experience working with volunteers
