About the Role

This is a full-time fixed term role up to 1 June 2023, based in our Townsville office.

The AOD Counsellor Case Manager role reports the Team Leader. The successful applicant will deliver individual and group-based counselling, case management and support services, as well as proactively assist and support clients with entry and exit into suitable residential treatment. High quality engagement, via in-person and phone contact, guided by evidence-based practice is crucial to the role.

Primary responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provide high quality engagement, assessment, counselling, case management and support services to clients and their families using evidence-based practice principles
  • Conduct clinical case reviews of individual treatment plans whilst collaborating with other clinicians and external service providers where necessary
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities
  • Provide culturally appropriate and sensitive practice, this includes engaging in ethical practice by identifying and meeting the social and cultural needs of clients
  • Ensure that services provide respect, protect and maintain the rights, privacy and confidentiality of clients and their carers

About you

The successful candidate will share our passion and commitment to service delivery excellence. As a case manager, you will hold the highest level of integrity and professionalism in your practice. Additionally, you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related area health services discipline or equivalent experience
  • Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence based AOD counselling practice, case management and intake and assessment
  • Experience in mindfulness and relapse prevention.
  • Strong experience in facilitating groups/sessions in relation to AOD.
  • Sound interpersonal skills, including a high standard of written and oral communication skills

The salary range is $74,179.04 to $79,810.64 per annum plus super plus salary packaging.
