The AOD services team in Central Queensland provides support to people in the form of one-on-one counselling and case management. This role will offer opportunities to connect with other like-minded human services that collectively support the people of Bundaberg.

About this opportunity

We are looking for a passionate Counsellor Case Manager with a demonstrated understanding of the AOD and Mental Health Sector. Based in Bundaberg, this role will report to the Central Queensland Team Leader and provide a comprehensive range of clinical and psycho-social interventions to people requiring AOD services. This role will manage a case load of clients providing individual counselling and case management, including specialist assessment on the level of drug dependence.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide high-quality engagement, assessment, counselling, and support services to clients, and their families, using evidence-based practice principles
  • Manage a case load of clients, including in an outreach capacity, through providing support, service coordination, referral, and advocacy to assist clients in achieving their goals.
  • Work with clients to develop, implement and review individual treatment goals
  • Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating within the multidisciplinary team and across interfaces with other health care providers
  • Provide pre-and post-rehabilitation support and relapse prevention planning
  • Engage with and develop productive relationships with relevant stakeholders

This is a full-time role (38 hours per week) based in Bundaberg. The salary range for this role is $74,179.04 to $79,810.64 per annum plus superannuation. We are fortunate that our employees can also access $18,540 salary packaging which increases your take-home pay.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated clinical skills in AOD assessment and intervention
  • Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence-based AOD counselling practice, case management, intake, and assessment
  • Highly developed communication and community engagement skills
  • Experience in delivering education programs and in the facilitation of groups
  • Sound interpersonal skills, including a high standard of written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and work well in a team
