Lives Lived Well is a leading support organisation for people who have problems with alcohol and drugs as well as other addictions such as gambling and associated mental health issues. We provide support services including residential rehabilitation and community counselling in more than 40 locations across Queensland and NSW.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based at Burleigh Heads, as a Pre and Post (Residential Treatment) Worker you will work primarily over the phone working closely with our Mirikai residential treatment facility and clients to enable smooth transitions both with intake and exiting clients, which include ongoing post-service client care.

This is a full-time, fixed term role until June 2023.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Mirikai team and clients for entry to the residential facility.
  • Provide recommendation for entry to Mirikai, based on the results of assessment, screening and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader to maintain and grow the occupancy of the service, managing enquiries, assessments, admissions and client demand.
  • Play an active role in the development of transition plans to support effective person-centred service delivery, particularly when supporting admission and discharge of clients from residential treatment.
  • Ensure continuity of care by effectively transitioning clients in and out of residential treatment utilising skills and expertise in multidisciplinary teams and effectively negotiating and advocating for client support needs with other health care providers.

The salary range for the role is $84,849 to $88,702 annually. We are fortunate that our employees can also access up to $18,540 salary packaging which increases their take home pay.

ABOUT YOU

Experience in counselling AOD clients will be highly regarded.

You will be able to meet the following key selection criteria:

  • Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence-based drug and alcohol clinical practice.
  • Experience conducting client comprehensive assessments with demonstrated capacity to make sound decisions regarding outcome of these assessments that support clients access to appropriate treatment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in residential treatment service delivery with a sound knowledge of the potential risk elements specific to this type of environment.
  • Experience working with client data management systems and competent with Microsoft suite.
  • Experience in facilitation of educational group programs for clients with drug and alcohol issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with key external stakeholders developing and maintaining referral pathways.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage own workload.
  • Highly developed communication and community engagement skills
