About headspace Early Psychosis

We provide comprehensive early intervention services to young people aged 12 to 25 years experiencing an early episode of psychosis or at risk of developing psychosis. Our committed and compassionate multi-disciplinary team have a rich history of working with young people, their family, and carers to help young people achieve their recovery goals.

About the role

The Senior Clinician - Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT) is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessments, assertive outreach, home-based intervention, and crisis response. MATT operates on a shift basis with some weekend work required. As a Senior Clinician on shift, you will:

  • Complete mental health assessments, crisis interventions, and short-term psychosocial treatment.
  • Lead the triage and intake of new referrals to the service.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to direct a multi-disciplinary team delivering responsive evidence-based interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with young people, their families, and referral networks.
  • Establish and maintain strong networks with relevant organisations and providers.

What do you need to apply?

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or equivalent.
  • Current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Substantial demonstrated experience in acute mental health care with first-episode psychosis experience an advantage.
  • Extensive experience working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Excellent knowledge of and demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and risk management.
