Our story is one of collaboration in which many people work together to help others live their lives well, free from the harm of drugs and alcohol. We’re a dynamic, not-for-profit organisation with a team of almost 400 people, delivering innovative and accessible support services across Queensland and regional New South Wales.

Watershed recently joined forces with Lives Lived Well and together, the two long-standing services aim to continue to provide and grow alcohol and other drug treatment services in the Wollongong region.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a passionate, energetic, experienced professional to fill the role of full-time Treatment Facilitator.

In this position, you will undertake alcohol and other drug case management and counselling, lead the delivery of the structured group program and provide daily support to residential clients seeking to overcome their alcohol and drug dependency issues.

You will also:

  • Work with your clients to develop, implement and review individual treatment goals.
  • Supervise and manage risk associated with AOD clients in a residential treatment setting.
  • Facilitate group work and processes by assisting team members to develop and improve program resources, developmental activities in relation to clinical practice and issues.
  • Provide culturally appropriate practices in line with comorbidity guidelines and secure practice frameworks directed at minority populations.
  • Ensure that client records, data collection and reporting are consistent with confidentiality and relevant practice standards.
  • Provide leadership to clients and peers including the set-up of structures and processes to ensure autonomy and empowerment are learning objectives central to the sustainability of the model.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates with tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services discipline.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services discipline
  • Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence based AOD clinical practice
  • Demonstrated expertise in residential treatment service delivery with a sound knowledge of the potential risk elements specific to this type of environment
  • Highly developed communication and engagement skills
  • Experience in developing and delivering education programs and group facilitation
  • A flexible and collaborative approach to working within a team

Desirable

  • Additional AOD qualifications highly regarded
  • Experience in Counselling approaches with AOD experience
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with relevant professional body such as Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Additional Factors

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Complete an Australian Criminal History Check
  • The provision of evidence in compliance with LLW’s applicable vaccine policy.
