The Aged Care Program assists frail aged and their carers living in the Greater Darwin and Palmerston regions. They provide culturally appropriate services that are tailored to the requirements of our clients, to maintain and increase their independence and assist them to live as valued and participating members of the community. We have a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, however we do also provide our services to non-indigenous people.

By providing assistance to our clients you will be enabling them in living stronger and longer.

The Aged Care Program provides the following services:

  • Meals At Home
  • Centre Based Social Support Group Activities / Outing
  • Personal Care
  • Transport
  • Domestic Assistance
  • Social Support Individual

We are looking for people with previous experience in aged care and disability, who have the ability to work under limited direction, have strong self-initiative.

It is imperative that you have strong communication skills with the ability to maintain documentation, relationship building skills and have the ability to follow directions and plans. Your time management and organisational skills will be impressive, and you will possess strong work ethics. You will also have the ability to work both autonomy and as part of a team.

Role requirements

  • Prefer experience in similar role
  • Must have a Cert 3 (or higher) in Aged Care or Disability
  • A current NT Driver’s License (C Class)
  • Own reliable & insured vehicle
  • Working with Children Card, Police Clearance, and a Senior First Aid Cert are requirements for this role

As a support worker it is expected that you will hold a Senior First Aid Certificate, a Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, Home and Community Care or Disability, a current unrestricted drivers license, an insured, reliable vehicle and are willing to complete a National Criminal History Check.
