Primary Classroom Teachers x2 - Ltyentye Apurte / Santa Teresa

Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School

Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School (LACS) is a remarkable school in the beautiful remote Aboriginal community of Ltyentye Apurte / Santa Teresa. Both the school and the community have won awards for their work. We are looking for two (2) full-time Primary Classroom Teachers to work in 1) our TRANSITION class and 2) our YEAR 5/6 classes from the beginning of Term 3, 2022.

LACS is a K - 12 school. Santa Teresa is located 83 KM south east of Alice Springs. There are 45 staff and an enrolment of approximately 140 students. The school has small class sizes and features specialist facilities including a community library, STEM and food technology rooms. Every classroom has access to the Internet, PCs, laptops, iPads and SMARTboards (IWBs). English is the second or third language for most students at the school, and the Arrernte language & culture program is a key focus of the curriculum at LACS. Teachers work as members of a team in partnership with local Aboriginal people and Arrernte Assistant Teachers. Staff members live in close proximity to each other and the school. The standard of accommodation is good.
