The MacDonnell region is located in the centre of Australia. Covering 270,000sq km and with an estimated population approaching 7,000, it has a unique beauty with picturesque water holes, magnificent flora and fauna, red desert sands and rugged mountain ranges.
This position will be based in our Alice Springs Office, which is the regional headquarters to councils' 13 remote communities and outstation locations which we are serving since 2008 with the idea of building a quality desert lifestyle.
As the Plant Operator, you will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment for civil construction, including wheel loader, excavator 20 tonne, grader, backhoe, skid steer & trucks, undertaking repairs, maintenance and civil construction on MRC assets including waste management facilities, road networks, parks, open spaces, ovals and others as required.
Our successful candidate will ideally hold the relevant and current plant and equipment tickets including a current white card and Heavy Combination Driver's License (desirably Multi Combination Driver's license as well). Together with at least 2 years of experience operating relevant plant and equipment. It is expected that the candidate demonstrates good communication skills in a range of cross-cultural situations together with high literacy, numeracy and computer skills to generate reports.
