The Service Delivery Manager is a new leadership team role working holistically as a Domestic Violence Resource Service (DVRS) employee under the banner of Mackay Women’s Services (MWS).

Our Organisation

The Domestic Violence Resource Service (Mackay & Region) Inc. (DVRS), Sexual Assault Service, and Mackay Women's Centre (MWC) are co-located under the umbrella of Mackay Women’s Services (MWS). DVRS is a not-for-profit community organisation funded by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General. It operates a service to support women and children experiencing domestic or family violence and offers a Sexual Assault Service also. The service is based in Mackay and serves the region from St. Lawrence in the south to the Whitsunday’s in the north, and west to the Isaac mining hinterland communities.

Purpose of Position

The Service Delivery Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing a range of specialist therapeutic counselling interventions and service delivery practices for women's counsellors, case managers, and staff working with women who have been affected by domestic and family violence and/or sexual assault. The role will also provide supervision support and advice to the men’s counsellors employed by this service.

The key focus is to:

  • Lead, guide and support the counselling and crisis response teams, services, and programs of the organisation within agreed practice frameworks.
  • Work in partnership with women and the staff team to provide high quality support and assistance to keep women safe and to achieve case plan goals.
  • Support co-design of service models.
  • Enhance and support internal team supervision structures and client review practices.
  • Develop a training portfolio for internal staff/volunteers and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with funding applications and the implementation of new funding and programs.

The Service Delivery Manager works within the Senior Management team jointly responsible for the management of reporting requirements, HR requirements, service delivery, policies and procedures.

The Service Delivery Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team working to support the staff and Executive Director.

You are passionate about working with women and children toward improving and supporting the absolute best outcomes for them. You have sound knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to the empowerment of women and children and understanding of domestic violence from a gendered analysis perspective.

With an empathetic nature you are compassionate toward vulnerable individuals. You are approachable, and a good problem solver who can think quickly on your feet to make sound decisions.

Excellent interpersonal skills are part of your skillset enabling you to build rapport with internal and external people and stakeholders easily. In addition, you have comprehensive knowledge of legislative requirements and can promote a culture of compliance.

Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with the organisational values of Mackay Women’s Services (MWS).

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications and experience will consist of:

  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in the psychology, social work or human services field.
  • Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and of contemporary practices and trends in the field of domestic and family violence.
