These are Ongoing Full Time (9pm-6am) opportunities based in Lismore, NSW.

Position Purpose:

This position is situated within the MacKillop National After Hours Services Unit which is responsible for providing high quality residential care that supports the emotional, social and behavioural care needs of vulnerable young people.

The Roving Residential Worker After Hours Support Worker is a member of the MacKillop National After Hours Services Unit and reports to the After Hours Rover Team Leader.

About the role:

  • Provide residential care that meets the day-to-day needs of young people.
  • Provide residential care that delivers quality outcomes for young people and their families.
  • Participate in team meetings with the National After Hours Team.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in youth work or relevant field;
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families;
  • Experience in youth services or residential care;
  • Ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties;
  • Ability to implement behaviour management plans for young people with challenging behaviours.

  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check;
  • Valid Working with Children Check;

NDIS Worker Screening Check: The Australian Government recently introduced the NDIS Worker Screening Check, an additional, national legislated compliance requirement to determine if a person is cleared to work with people with disability. MacKillop requires all client facing staff obtain the NDIS Worker Screening Check.
