About the Program

The Mackillop services in the Pilbara include:

  • The Indigenous Healing Service which provides healing, support, counselling and a therapeutic response to children and young people and their families affected by child sexual abuse and/or family and domestic violence.
  • General Foster Care which provides 10 placements in partnership with Wirraka Maya Aboriginal Health Service.
  • The Family Care Support Service providing in home intervention to extended family caring for children in care.
  • The Intensive Family Support Service providing in home support to families where children are at risk of being placed in care, or are being reunified with their family.

About the role

The Manager Pilbara Services is responsible for the oversight, coordination and management of all staff and programs in MacKillop’s Pilbara region. Working closely with the Operations Manager and State Director WA, the Manager will oversee all service delivery to children and families and is responsible for liaising with our stakeholders for the service as well as reporting to the Department.

The Pilbara Manager will be responsible for ensuring Pilbara WA programs are professionally managed and supervised, to achieve our shared goal of providing a quality services to clients and to ensure all reporting and administrative functions are completed to exceptional standards.

This position is situated in the Pilbara with our office located in South Hedland. Some additional travel, as well as delivery of services to clients, may also be required.

The Mackillop services in the Pilbara include:

  • The Indigenous Healing Service which provides healing, support, counselling and a therapeutic response to children and young people and their families affected by child sexual abuse and/or family and domestic violence; and
  • An Indigenous Foster Care Service that provides 10 placements in partnership with the Wirraka Maya Aboriginal Health Service.
  • Two early intervention Services supporting Families in their home and community.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated management experience managing community sector services.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising human service professionals.
  • Demonstrated liaison experience with funding bodies.
  • Skills in marketing and public relations/contract management.
  • Excellent skills in written, oral and interpersonal communication.
  • Analytical and conceptual skills in strategic planning, goal setting and evaluation.
  • Financial management skills to prepare and monitor budgets.
  • People management skills including team dynamics, delegating responsibility, assessing performance, providing feedback and resolving conflicts.
  • Knowledge of current trends and resources in the community services sector.
  • Ability to provide leadership and vision.
  • Ability to work in a culturally supportive manner.
  • Evidence of personal values consistent with the values of MacKillop Family Services including a willingness to embrace the Sanctuary Model and Principles.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence.
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
  • Valid Working with Children Check.
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check or can provide proof of application up to 31 July 2021.
