MacKillop is seeking to fill an Ongoing Full Time, senior management position, based in Grafton and supporting MacKillop’s programs in the Clarence Valley & Coffs Harbour regions of NSW.

Position purpose:

The Regional Manager Permanency Support Program- Clarence and Coffs Harbour is responsible for leading the delivery of MacKillop’s Foster Care, Carer Recruitment and Development and Intensive Therapeutic Care services in the Clarence Valley and Coffs Harbour regions. The position works closely with key internal and external stakeholders to improve permanency, safety and wellbeing outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and their families and support them to achieve their full potential.

The Regional Manager Permanency Support Program- Clarence and Coffs Harbour is a member of the NSW/ACT Leadership Team and reports to the State Director- NSW North and West.

Primary Objectives:

The Regional Manager Permanency Support Program- Clarence and Coffs Harbour will manage the day-to-day operations of the Permanency Support Program including Home Based Care and Intensive Therapeutic Care Programs ensuring services are high quality, culturally safe and operate within the agreed budget, strategic and operating plans.

Key selection criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, community services, management or relevant field;
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection and an understanding of statutory child protection frameworks;
  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, social science, management or other relevant field with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development;
  • Management experience in a similar role, preferably in child protection and/or out of home care; a strong understanding of trauma, attachment and child/adolescent development theory; and a commitment to strengths-based, child-focused, family-centred and relationship-based practice;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in change management with a strong understanding of the NSW OOHC and early intervention reform context, and MacKillop’s strategic and operational priorities;

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check;
  • Valid Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check

The Australian Government recently introduced the NDIS Worker Screening Check, an additional, national legislated compliance requirement to determine if a person is cleared to work with people with disability. MacKillop requires all client facing staff obtain the NDIS Worker Screening Check.
