Recruitment Officer - Cairns

MAF International

MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) is a dynamic Christian aviation charity, operating 130 light aircraft in around 25 developing countries. Soaring over deserts, jungles and mountains, we bring help, hope and healing to people living in some of the worlds most isolated communities.

This position has an international remit and is a critical role for the organisation as the post-holder is responsible for ensuring current and future staffing needs are met and that candidates are successfully on-boarded. You will be expected to deliver a comprehensive talent acquisition process which addresses the needs of the organisation, building on current and new innovative ideas.

This is a demanding, fast paced role working across international and cultural boundaries, requiring someone who is comfortable working both strategically and operationally. We need someone who can manage the needs of many stakeholders (both from within and external to MAF) from different countries. As part of the international recruitment team you will be responsible for supporting our MAF Support Offices and overseas programmes in the recruitment of staff to meet our growing workforce needs. You will have a proven track record within recruitment or HR management.

NOTE: This position is based in our Cairns office and therefore is only open to those with a current 'right to work' in Australia due to Immigration restrictions. As part of the recruitment process, a Criminal History check will be required for the successful applicant.

We are looking for someone who can support and develop new attraction methods which can reach a wider, more diverse audience while maintaining the organisations ethos, including the promotion of MAF and its vacancies via social media and other channels.

Essential for this role is the ability to manage the assessment and selection of candidates and, work with successful candidates (and in many cases their families) in their deployment to their assignments. You will need to ensure all candidates are treated with respect such that the reputation of MAF is enhanced and the candidates feel valued. In addition you will need to ensure that recruitment and on boarding policies, processes and practices remain legally compliant and best practice is adopted, which can be challenging working across many different countries.

In this role you will work with the Senior Recruitment Officer (Ashford, UK) in the development and maintenance of our Career Portals/Applicant Tracking System. Additionally you will co-ordinate volunteer placements and internal staff transfers, ensuring all necessary preparation steps are carried out fully and well.

Being comfortable managing a high workload and conflicting priorities is essential.

Stakeholder management is key to this role and you will need to establish and maintain good relationships with senior managers, MAF national entities (who support recruitment activity) and HR colleagues.

Reporting to the International Recruitment Manager you will be a key member of the recruitment team and will be required to support the wider HR team.
