As one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit organisation in Afghanistan, Mahboba’s Promise remains well placed to respond flexibly and effectively to the humanitarian crisis facing Afghanistan in the face of political unrest, drought and famine. Beyond our crisis response, we continue to provide sustainable development projects across the country through our schools, vocational training programs, shelters and health clinics, as well as supporting widows and orphans through our sponsorship programme.

ROLE:

Mahboba’s Promise is rapidly growing and are looking for a Marketing Manager to help continue and exponentially improve this incline. With an already established donor and sponsor base of mainly individuals, the role would include taking the next step to grow and expand our philanthropic base and corporate sectors, as well as significantly expanding our individual donor base. As such an opportunity for an experienced, hands-on, Marketing Manager has arisen to help drive the organisation forward, growing our sponsorship program across industry sectors and leading the organisation in terms of marketing strategy and delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for a generalist marketer with experience across all major marketing functions (including website, analytics, email, content and social) to join our dynamic team based in Marsfield. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop and execute a growth focused annual marketing plan as well as the longer-term strategic vision of marketing within the business
  • Manage and execute strategic plans to broaden the reach and achieve corporate donors and fundraising opportunities
  • Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer & Founder to achieve the organisation’s growth goals
  • Full ownership of the marketing platforms, channels, strategy and output
  • Marketing strategy budget management and revenue achievement
  • Lead customer engagement initiatives including defining strategies for key touch points
  • Coordinating and managing aspects of Media, social media platforms and public relations, including being the point of contact for ongoing media relations
  • Ownership of lead generation, online conversion, nurture, re-engagement and overall performance of marketing initiatives
  • Create and execute targeted end-to-end campaigns, measurement, optimisation to drive growth for the business
  • Provide regular up-to-date campaign reporting and develop actionable insights to continually improve the various channels and campaigns
  • Analysis of campaign results including providing recommendations and insights to develop lifecycle and retention strategies
  • Drive major marketing and communications campaigns internally and externally; including brochures, social media posts, banners, videos, press releases, and content writing
  • Coordinating and having active involvement with all levels of marketing, including but not limited to designing and implementing social media channels, campaigns and advertising
  • Manage existing and future Marketing volunteers

PERSONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years’ experience in marketing and communications
  • Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications ( i.e. Marketing, Business, eCommerce, Digital) highly vauable
  • A solid understanding of acquisition strategies and online methodologies with proven growth success
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyse information and make decisions
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong management skills with the ability to work well with others
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing marketing strategies to achieve revenue targets
  • Self-starter, ambitious, disciplined, talented individual skilled at both strategic and tactical execution and not afraid to get their hands dirty
  • Internal and external stakeholder management
  • A passion for human rights causes

Highly Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience with fundraising and donor management
  • Media & Public relations experience
  • Video editing skills and experience
  • Experience with WordPress , Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Salesforce CRM, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience and success in creating exceptional content for media, for campaign or fundraising purposes in a fast-turn around environment
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively to deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work collaboratively and across different teams, including teams remotely
  • A commitment to supporting women’s development & displacement issues, as well as aid provision in a human rights framework, including evidenced understanding of the need to work in a culturally safe way
