Associação Maluk Timor is an NGO based in Dili that works to support the strengthening of the primary health care system in Timor-Leste. Our vision is to achieve excellent quality healthcare for Timorese people, that promotes lifelong wellbeing and reduces preventable death and disease. Working closely with the Timorese Ministry of Health, we assist with primary care workforce development, health systems strengthening, co-delivery of services with eventual handover, and community health.
The Executive Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic, programmatic and operational aspects of Maluk Timor’s work, building a strong and sustainable organisation that is a trusted partner within Timor-Leste’s primary health care system.
The Executive Director must build and model a great organisational culture, provide inspired leadership to the team, and establish productive working relationships with partners and the Maluk Timor Boards in Timor-Leste and Australia.
The successful applicant will have the skills, expertise and experience necessary to lead the organisation in the following areas:
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have high-level tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, e.g. medicine, public health, health system management, business administration, development studies. Experience working in the NGO sector and/or health system management would be beneficial. Experience working in a developing health system would be highly regarded. Good fluency in English is required and commitment to fluency in Tetum.
The role is full time and based in Dili (Timor Leste) but will require travel to the municipalities within Timor Leste
