About the Role

The Finance Officer is responsible for coordinating and administering financial functions for the organisation. Your duties will include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Finance.

You'll help us do this by:

  • Ensure that invoice requests, customer account reconciliations and any overdue statements at end of month have been processed and reconciled
  • Ensure that banking deposits and data entry associated with receipting has been processed in a timely manner
  • Prepare NDIS billing for all service areas
  • Ensure that reconciliation, dissection and payment of monthly accounts has been completed
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues relating to invoices or accounts
  • Ensure that annual review and evaluation of suppliers has been conducted
  • Process staff expense claims and reimbursements
  • Monitor and promptly action and respond to any queries received in the accounts inbox
  • Support business units with finance related information and processes as requested
  • Work with the Finance Manager on BAS preparation and Fringe Benefits Tax return preparation
  • Assist Finance Manager with month end financial transactions, reconciliations and reporting
  • Assist Finance Manager with budget preparation as requested
  • Assist Finance Manager with other tasks as requested

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

Essential:

  • Experience with Xero Accounting Software
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong dedication to high level service for clients and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Solid knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to manage confidential data

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of and experience of working in the community sector
  • Familiarity with and understanding of the needs of people with disabilities
  • Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme legislation, policies and NDIS pricing guide
  • Familiarity with the NDIS Portal

This role will suit someone who displays a high level of professionalism, has a can do' attitude, and is comfortable with autonomy, ambiguity and adaptability.

QUALIFICATIONS / LICENCES / CERTIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • As a minimum holds a Certificate III in Book keeping, Accounting or Finance or working towards a Bachelor Degree in finance
  • Current Blue Card and Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Screening Card
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate
