About the role

Our Microenterprise Development Managers (MED) work within their regions, supporting people to start, stay and thrive in business. We journey with our clients as they develop their businesses and their business skills. This position reports to the Head of NT, supporting and driving our mission across the region:

  • Empowering individuals through business coaching to create new and diverse businesses, thereby increasing household income and assets and providing greater certainty and stability for families;
  • Enabling increased availability of locally provided goods and services in remote, regional and urban locations, helping to build sustainable local economies;
  • Contributing to Australia’s economic growth through supporting a reduced reliance on welfare and improvement in economic and social outcomes.

Who We Are Looking For?

You may have run your own businesses, been a business coach or financial counsellor. We are looking for motivated self-starters who are energised by challenges and the opportunity to help people move themselves ahead in business and out of welfare dependency.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Impeccable integrity, trust, respect, stewardship and commitment to people in disadvantaged circumstances
  • Tertiary qualifications through TAFE / university, in business, finance, or community development (preferred)
  • The ability to work with cashflows and interpret financial information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, incl. highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to relate with a wide range of people, in a variety of setting
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Current driver’s licence and a freedom to travel as frequent intra-regional travel is required

Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks including reference checks, Criminal History check, Equifax Check and Working with Children/ Vulnerable People check, where applicable.
