The position

We are seeking numerous experienced Youth Workers for multiple vacancies across both the Orange & Bathurst regions. We need energetic and passionate individuals with previous experience within the residential care. You must be available for shift work which includes morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, active and sleepover shifts.

The Youth Worker is a member of a broader therapeutic team that work together to support each young person living in accommodation with their day to day activities, and achieve their individual personal, living and social skills, while acting as a mentor who engages positive change and discourages anti-social behaviours. Working across multiple residential houses, support each young people through positive mentoring, implementation of case plans, and collaborative engagement and relationships with stakeholders both within and outside of the agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day care, supervision, and support to young people
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual plans
  • Work autonomously and contribute to an effective team environment
  • Maintain effective communication and positive relationships with the young people in care.
  • Maintain progress records as per Marist180 procedures, including completing accurate and timely reports, communications, time sheets, financial records

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working within a residential setting and working with linguistically and culturally diverse communities.
  • Knowledge of child protection and social services practices or policies.
  • Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services or similar
  • Candidates with relevant experience who are working towards a relevant diploma will be considered

Work Requirement:

  • Current and valid First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Clear National Criminal History Check.
  • Unrestricted NSW driver’s licence (minimum Provisional 2 licence).
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
