  • Location: Melbourne - however we invite applicants from across Australia.
  • Salary: $85,000 p.a. pro-rata. As a four-day per week position, the salary will be $68,000.
  • Term: Four days per week to December 2022 with a view to renewal dependent on performance and funding availability.
  • Position reports to: Digital Campaigner

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Web Content Producer & Designer works with our campaigns, communications and research teams to publish and update content across Market Forces’ websites.

We use our websites as a platform where we publish research that exposes the companies responsible for financing environmentally destructive projects, and provide tools that enable people to hold these companies to account. An important aspect of this role will be to work with our campaigners to present content in a way that is accessible and engaging to our supporters, and maximises the campaign impact of our websites.

A solid understanding of user experience & user interface design principles, a good eye for visual design, exceptional attention to detail and an ability to communicate concepts to a variety of audiences with varying levels of expertise are essential for this role.

Summary of key tasks and duties:

  • Work with the Digital Campaigner and Website Manager to ensure Market Forces’ websites perform in line with agreed objectives.
  • Provide support to the communications team to achieve growth and impact objectives as set for Market Forces.
  • Work with campaigners to manage, design, publish, and update content on Market Forces’ websites.
  • Lead on improving user experience and design across Market Forces’ websites.
  • Design new websites and work with the Website Manager and Digital Campaigner to set up and manage them.
  • Set up and test forms and other types of digital actions on Market Forces’ websites.
  • Produce and publish images and graphic design for use on Market Forces’ websites
  • Ensure web content is optimised for search engines.

Selection criteria (essential):

  • Passion for protecting the environment and winning campaigns
  • Exceptional written, visual, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability in applying user experience / user interface design (UX / UI) principles to improve website performance
  • Strong design skills, with specific emphasis on website design
  • Experience using web content management systems (WordPress preferred)
  • Experience using HTML / CSS to customise webpages and stylesheets.
  • Experience with JavaScript or other front-end web development languages is desirable but not essential. Experience using email marketing programs and/or CRMs
  • Comfortable with conditional logic problems such as email list segmentation

Selection criteria (desirable):

  • Experience with data visualisation and/or demonstrated ability to creatively visualise and present data in a web format
  • Experience with applying Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) principles to improve website search performance
