The role

We’re looking for an experienced Partnerships Manager to join Marlin’s Marketing and New Business team to help create new partnerships with charities and for-purpose organisations.

The purpose of this role is to help Marlin generate, capture and convert new business leads through products and services promotions, conference sponsorships and events and other lead generation activities.

Reporting to the Communications Strategist, the Partnerships Manager will:

  • Respond to new charity partnership leads and write strategic proposals that lead to new projects at Marlin;
  • Manage Marlin's sponsorships of conferences, working with external partners on the logistics and fulfilment of Marlin's benefits;
  • Collaborate with the internal creative team on developing collateral;
  • Work alongside the Marketing Manager to implement promotions and develop communications.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of all new business and partnership materials including proposals, templates and case studies, ensuring they are consistent and up to date.

Who we are looking for

  • A strong relationship builder with a consultative sales approach that earns trust and confidence.
  • A solutions focused, strategic thinker, with experience writing proposals to promote company products and services.
  • Experience working in the for-purpose sector, with an understanding of charities and fundraising.
  • Someone familiar with the type of services Marlin offers NFPs and for-purpose organisations, confident describing what clients procuring those services need.
  • An excellent relationship manager with experience project managing events, sponsorships and marketing campaigns to agreed timelines with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • A great communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Confident and upbeat with a positive ‘can do’ attitude and proven experience building strong relationships with external stakeholders and prospective clients.
  • Highly organised and process driven, willing to follow Marlin’s tried and tested project management methodology.
  • Always looking for smarter and more efficient ways of working without compromising on the quality of the output.
  • As much a self starter as they are a collaborator - comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a clean and consistent manner with proper record keeping and documentation. Accuracy in filing and naming work-in-progress so as to easily retrieve files.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight time constraints.
  • Ability to engage empathetically with colleagues, working well with a wide range of personalities and roles.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 5+ years experience in fundraising, partnerships, business development or marketing.
  • Experience using a CRM system, and project and resource management tools.
