Maroondah City Council is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Youth Program Facilitator to support the implementation of a fortnightly LGBTIQA+ group for young people aged 10-13. The role will co-facilitate the group with one of Council's experienced youth workers with the aim of building connection and raising the wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ young people.
The successful applicant must have lived experience within the LGBTIQA+ community and be able to bring their lived experience to the group where relevant. Comprehensive knowledge of LGBTIQA+ terminology and inclusive practice is essential.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent group facilitation skills and experience empowering young people through youth participation.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and a proven ability to engage and work with young people and the wider community are required. Knowledge of and commitment to inclusive Positive Psychology and demonstrated experience in local government is an advantage.
Comprehensive induction, training and ongoing support will be provided.
